Today in Kyoto: Gion’s Shirakawa Yoizakura photoshoot!
Every April, two ladies of GIon Kobu or Miyagawacho gather at the Philosopher’s Path in the Gion’s Shirakawa area for a free photoshoot under cherry blossoms.
This year a geiko and a maiko were chosen: Makiko san of Gion Kobu and Toshimomo san of Miyagawacho. For many years it was a privilege available only for Gion Kobu’s maiko, but lately Miyagawacho has started taking part in this photoshoot.
